Media Workshops

IPJ’s workshops have focused on areas such as good reporting, business, environmental and online journalism. They have also dealt with issues such as newsroom management, uses of the Internet and online journalism. Beginners, middle managers and editors have participated in our workhsops.

Trainers have come mostly from the United States, thanks in part to the Washington-based International Center for Journalists. Training has also been provided by Dr. Mahmoud Tarabay and Magda Abu-Fadil.

Thanks to a grant from AID in 2000, IPJ and ICFJ conducted a 10-week workshop in investigative journalism at LAU and at the Lebanese University, concurrently. Forty Lebanese journalists took part in the workshop and about a dozen of them were then selected to travel to the U.S. for six weeks (at AID/ICFJ expense) to train in newsrooms across the country.
